The goal for each Casual Commander event is to have fun, bring your quirkiest and most creative decks, and to try and nab the MOST ACHIEVEMENT POINTS in your pod!

Casual Commander events will run on the same established schedule:

Sundays @ 11am and 2pm

Here’s how it works:

When players sign up, they can either pay the $10 entry fee or they can choose to enter the event for FREE. ***This only applies to Sunday events and not Wednesdays. Wednesday routinely sells out so we can only accommodate space for paid entries.

Owl Central event staff will then pod all of the registered players and hand out the month’s achievement point slips. When your pod is finished, whoever racked up the most achievement points in their pod wins a Set Booster Pack of their choice! (Tie breakers go to the player knocked out last)

So Why Pay $10 to Enter?

Everyone who pays the entry fee for the event gets their $10 awarded right back to them in store credit. But more importantly, every paid entry gets you an entry into the End of Month Prize Giveaway!

The last Sunday of every calendar month, we’ll be giving away a MINIMUM grand prize of a Set Booster Box of the most recent Standard legal set. The more people that pay for their event entries during the month, the more money enters the prize pool for us to give away more stuff! It’s all upside: Pay $10, get $10 back and a chance to win the end of month giveaway!

Giveaway entries are also stackable! If you play in our Casual Commander events three times a week and pay for all your entries, you’ll have an average of 12 entries into the end of month giveaway (not to mention $120 in store credit in your account in case you don’t win)!

Circle your achievements as you complete them!

+2 Challenge Mode: Spells you play cost an additional 2 life

+1 Superhero Time!: Make a sound effect when you cast your Commander for the first time

+1 Commander Damage Victory: Kill an opponent by dealing 21 combat damage to them with your Commander over the course of the game

+1 Fire Breath: Deal non-combat damage to a creature or player

+1 Behold, My Stuff: Reveal a card in your hand as a result of an ability you control

+1 Of Fangs & Fire: Play a spell with fire or fangs in it's art.

+1 Egg Hunt: Explore, Surveil, Scry, and Investigate during the game

-1 Removing 4 or more lands from opponents' battlefields during the game

-1 Repeating an loop 5+ times (infinite and indeterminate both count)

-1 Killing everyone in the same turn

-1 Killing a player before the 5th turn cycle

-1 Taking more than 2 extra consecutive turns*

Challenge Mode must be declared at the start of the game, and cannot be turned off at any point.

*All achievements but extra turns only apply once.

On your pod slips, be sure to cast your vote for “best sportsmanship” in your pod. You can’t vote for yourself! The best sport for each pod will get an additional entry into the end of the month raffle!

Less Than 150 Paid Entrants = 1 Set Booster Box (One Winner)*

150 Paid Entrants = 1 Set Booster Box + Bundle (Two Winners)*

200 Paid Entrants = 1 Set Booster Box + Bundle + Bundle (Three Winners)*

250 Paid Entrants = 1 Set Box + 1 Set Box + Bundle + Bundle (Four Winners)*

*Entrants can only win once per month
